Sustainable Energy Engineering Laboratory (SEEL)
Sustainable Energy Engineering Laboratory (SEEL) at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology is a cutting-edge collaborative research group in water electrolysis technology for green hydrogen production.
The Sustainable Energy Engineering Laboratory (SEEL) at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology is striving to achieve high efficiency and reliability in alkaline water electrolysis for green hydrogen production. In particular, we are interested in developing an advanced porous separator with high ionic conductivity and low hydrogen permeability, as well as all anode/cathode materials for advanced electrodes. Furthermore, we are also focused on developing water electrolysis systems and safety technologies.
In order to produce green hydrogen by water electrolysis, we utilize advanced electrolyzers, high current potentiostats, impedance measurement systems, and various electric measurement systems. Moreover, to strategically improve efficiency and reliability, nano/micro level surface modification methods for the separator, catalyst, and PTL are applied. We are trying to contribute to the commercialization of the system by presenting the design of the water electrolysis stack, derivation of the evaluation protocol, and criterion.
Ultimately, we will attempt to integrate knowledge and technology from advanced material science and engineering with industry-academic cooperative foundations.
